Ramsay, Christina

We celebrate the life of Christina (Gargaro) Ramsay, who passed away at the age of 93. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, she lived in Waterford, Ireland, before the family moved to Kingston in 1953. She was the Matriarch of the Gargaro-Ramsay Clan. Chrissie was predeceased by her husband Willie in 2008. They had celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary. Friends will remember this dancing couple at the Canadian United Kingdom Dance Club. They were also members of the Sons of Scotland. Friends will remember Chrissie’s smile when she worked at Queen’s University, Brock Jewelers and Jackson-Mettvier Store. She was devoted to her church, St. Paul’s Anglican, which ministers to the poor in Kingston. Last year she received the Anglican Church Women Award. She is survived by her sons Robert (Delyse) of Ottawa, Billy (Sheila) of New Jersey and daughter Rosemary Norman (Willie) of Kingston; granddaughters Julie (Les) of Australia, Krista (Gianfranco) of Italy, Emily (Luke) of Toronto, Heather of California; grandsons Sean (Heidi) of New York, Jason (Peter) of Seattle; and great grandchildren, Grace, Danika, Alessia, Isabella, Elettra and dozens of loving cousins.

Family and friends will be received at the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home-Central Chapel, 49 Colborne Street, on Friday, September 13th, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will held at St. Paul's Church, 137 Queen Street, on Saturday, September 14th at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens.
