<div itemprop="description">ELLIS, JACK<br />January 9, 1926 - March 15, 2016<br /><br />Peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband for 70 years to Frances M. Ellis (Elliott); father of John Ellis and Scott (Joan Bronson); Grandfather of Lisa Sinclair (Michael) and Laura Ellis (Adam Bateman); Great Grandfather of Pyper Sinclair; brother of the late Frank (Jennie) , sister the late Miriam Pollard (the late Harry) and predeceased by his parents Frank and Eliza Jane. Uncle to David and Doug Ellis; Tony, Brian and Susan Pollard.<br /> <br />Jack was a World War II Veteran, carpenter for 20 years and finished his working career with 20 years as Maintenance Supervisor of the Frontenac County Board of Education, mananging many trades and creating the department.<br /><br />Jack was born in Brampton and came to Kingston in 1933 where his father was a cook at the Kingston Prison. His early years were on Albert Street and Ellerbeck Street before entering the Military in 1943. On retiring he lived between Bath and Millhaven at Ellismere. He built his own home of 70 years at Montreal Street. <br /><br />He also wintered 27 years in Indian Creek Park at Fort Myers Beach Florida. Jack was alway a strong individual, a man's man. He will be greatly missed by all. The world will never be the same.<br /><br />Friends will be received at the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 49 Colborne Street (at Clergy St.) on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in Our Chapel on Wednesday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. INterment will follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. <br /><br />For those wishing, donations to the Alzheimer's Society, Kingston Chapter would be appreciated by his family.</div>
