J.V. Cleary Assembly #0857. </p> <p> Peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the age of 76 with his loving wife of 53 years Florence by his side. Predeceased by his parents Philorome and Elmire of Moncton, NB. He will be greatly missed by his children Michele (Clair), David (Jillian), Robert (Kathryn) and Danielle (Douglas). Beloved Grampy to Zachary, Madison, Garrett, Makenzy, Dawson, Emery, Everett, Lucca and Jasmine. Dear brother of Irene, Lorraine and Roger, and predeceased by siblings Fred, Doris, Lucy, Norma and infant Ronald. Ron dedicated his life to the service of others, serving for 43 years in the military, retiring from the regular force as a Chief Warrant Officer at CFB Kingston and then joining HMCS ONTARIO for 10 years. Ron spent his retirement volunteering tirelessly for the church and Knights of Columbus and the Kingston Community. </p> <p> Friends will be received at the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOMES, 49 Colborne Street (at Clergy St.) on Friday, November 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Kingston Mills Road, on Saturday, December 1 at 10:00 am. Cremation will follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, with a family interment service at a later date. <br /> <br /> In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society or UHKF Cancer Centre would be appreciated by his family. <br /> <br /> Members of the A.,N.A.F. Martello Unit #377 will gather at the funeral home Friday evening at 7 pm for a Remembrance Service. </p> </div>
