<div itemprop="description">Lynch, Mary “Maureen” (née Doyle) <br> <br>Passed away peacefully at Rideaucrest Home on Saturday, September 24th, 2016 at the age of 94. Loving mother of Janis Lynch, Karen Lynch (Richard Van Allen), Sean Lynch and Michael Lynch (Henny). Dear grandmother of Shannon Lynch. Survived by her sister Anne Murphy in Ireland. Predeceased by her sisters Rita and Ellie, as well as her brother Bud. <br> <br>Maureen was born in New York where she lived with her parents for a short time before moving home to Ireland, where she grew up. She received her nursing training in London, England during World War II and after the war, moved to Canada. She made her home in the Kingston area raising four children and nursing in local hospitals. Maureen enjoyed a career that spanned more than 25 years working as an Occupational Health Nurse at Alcan. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Women’s League, having just received her 60 year pin. A truly devoted Irish Catholic whose faith sustained her, Maureen touched the lives of many people who will treasure her memory. <br> <br>The family wish to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Rideaucrest 3rd floor, and to special friends Mike and Diane Foley. <br><br>Visitation will be held at the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home - Central Chapel, 49 Colborne Street (at Clergy St.) on Wednesday, September 28th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph’s Church, 392 Palace Road on Thursday, September 29th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a reception. Rite of Committal and interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wolfe Island. As expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Maureen to St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital would be appreciated by the family.<br></div>
