<div itemprop="description">Fortin Paul &Eacute;mile - At St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, with his family at his side, on Tuesday, November 24th, 2015 at the age of 90. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Gis&egrave;le Marguerite (n&eacute;e V&eacute;zina). He is survived by his 4 children: John (Deborah Smith) of Steeple Aston, England, Guy (Jennifer Richens) of Ottawa, Suzanne (David Gaensbauer) of Atlanta, Georgia and Fran&ccedil;ois of Kingston; his 3 grandchildren: Bradley &amp; Natalie Gaensbauer and Cameron Fortin-Smith. He was born in Val Jalbert, Qu&eacute;bec on December 19th, 1924. Paul graduated from Laval University with undergraduate, masters and PhD degrees in metallurgical engineering. Paul was a founder of St. Fran&ccedil;ois d'Assise Church in the early 60's and remained an active member throughout his life. He was committed to volunteerism, most recently as community treasurer for the resident's social club at Revera St. Lawrence Place. He spent his career working for Alcan Aluminum, originally in Arvida, Qu&eacute;bec; he subsequently was transferred to Kingston in 1960. Alloys patented by Paul's team remain in wide commercial use today, especially in the automotive industry. His pastimes included playing bridge, golfing, curling and watching The Habs win the Stanley Cup! <br /><br />Family and friends will be received at the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOME - Central Chapel, 49 Colborne Street (at Clergy St.) on Friday, November 27th from 2-4:00 and 7-9:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 28th at 1:00 p.m. in St. Fran&ccedil;ois d'Assise Church, 512 Frontenac Street. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to Providence Manor would be appreciated by the family.</div>
